KANSAS! magazine fall edition hits newsstands, mailboxes this week

Looking for a great way to explore Kansas, get some exercise and enjoy the cooler autumn weather? Then grab the fall edition of KANSAS! magazine and check out “Hit the Trails,” a six-page guide to the best trails in Kansas for hiking, biking and everything in between.

Written by Doug Vance, “Hit the Trails” provides an overview of Kansas’ extensive network of trails, many of which are regarded among the nation’s best. The article covers the different kinds of Kansas trails – rail, nature-based, equestrian and mountain biking, to name a few – and includes a list of 14 handy-dandy trail tips to help you stay safe and get the most out of your trail experience.

The fall edition of KANSAS! also includes “Oread Rising,” a four-page feature on the new Oread Hotel in Lawrence. Written by Jessica Sain Baird, the article takes a look inside Lawrence’s newest hotel, which is located within shouting distance of the University of Kansas’ football stadium and boasts an incredible melding of history and modern luxury.

Rounding out the fall edition are two of the magazine’s most popular recurring sections – “Our Town,” which this season features the community of Garden City, and “Taste of Kansas,” which turns its attention to Kansas-grown pecans and other nuts.

“Autumn is spectacular in Kansas,” said Jennifer Haugh, Editor of KANSAS! magazine. “With slightly cooler temperatures and great foliage, it really is the perfect time to get outside and experience all that Kansas has to offer. The fall edition of KANSAS! provides some great ideas for doing just that.”
