Gov. Sam Brownback and Harry Moser, founder of the Reshoring Initiative, will join business leaders at a conference to highlight reshoring opportunities for Kansas businesses. The conference will be held on Sept. 25 in Wichita.
The reshoring movement is bringing manufacturing jobs back to the United States, thanks to the cost-efficiencies, stability and quality provided by U.S. manufacturers. The reshoring conference will focus on potential growth areas, which include agricultural equipment, aerospace, construction equipment, plastics/polymers, consumer goods and energy industry components and support equipment. Speakers will outline key opportunities and new resources available to help small and medium sized businesses in Kansas pursue growth prospects associated with reshoring.
WHAT/WHO: The agenda for the conference follows:• 8:30 a.m. – Kansas Commerce Secretary Pat George will welcome attendees.• 8:35 a.m. – Robert B. Crain, AGCO’s senior vice president and general manager for North America, will present an overview of his company’s efforts to reshore production.• 9:05 a.m. – Panel of Kansas small and medium-sized businesses will discuss reshoring success stories. Panelists include:o Dave Dreiling, GTM Sportswearo Patty Koehler, JR Custom Metalso Jim Lee, Lee Aerospace• 9:45 a.m. – Gov.
