KANSASWORKS to host home agent job fair in Russell on Oct. 24

KANSASWORKS is hosting a home agent job fair on Oct. 24 in conjunction with Convergys, a global leader in relationship management.

“Convergys’ Home Agent program is one of the fastest growing parts of the company, and it offers a flexible work alternative to the traditional office setting,” said Kansas Commerce Secretary Pat George. “The company has immediate opportunities for home agents to handle customer service telephone calls, web chats, and e-mail inquiries for a variety of Convergys clients.”

WHAT: Home agent job fair for Convergys Corp. in Russell, sponsored by KANSASWORKS.

WHEN/WHERE: 9-11 a.m., parking lot of the Klema Apple Market, 51 S. Fossil St., Russell, Kan. 67665. Look for the KANSASWORKS Mobile Center.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Job seekers are encouraged to dress appropriately and bring copies of their resumes. The KANSASWORKS Mobile Center will be on site to help participants with resume preparation and job counseling services. Please note that Convergys will not conduct formal interviews at this time. The event is an opportunity for job seekers to meet with a company representative via video conference to learn more about Convergys and opportunities to work as a home agent for the company.

CONVERGYS HOME AGENT INFORMATION: Home agent positions include salary, health benefits, flexible scheduling and paid training. Home agents will provide customer service support for various Convergys clients. The pay is $9 per hour plus incentives, and employees working more than 20 hours per week are eligible for benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, as well as tuition reimbursement.

Agents must meet certain home office standards to be considered, including a quiet place to work inside their home, a personal computer that meets Convergys’ minimum standards, high-speed Internet access and a noise-canceling headset. A complete list of technical requirements can be found at
