RedStone Logistics to start operations in Overland Park

RedStone Logistics, a third-party logistics provider specializing in logistics management services to small- and medium-sized businesses nationwide, will bring more than 100 jobs to Overland Park in the next three years and invest more than $1 million in systems and support. It will locate at 8500 West 110th Street.

The management team of RedStone Logistics is made up of industry veterans, with a combined 80 years of logistics expertise. Led by President and CEO Jim Ritchie, co-founder and former president and CEO of YRC Logistics, the RedStone leadership team has held a number of management and executive positions at industry-leading logistics companies. “While this is a new company, the business and industry is not new to us,” Ritchie said. “We anticipate RedStone’s growth to be organic and through acquisitions, with an increase in its national coverage.”

RedStone Logistics’ leadership believes Overland Park has not only the business infrastructure to provide support services for their company, but also many attractive, cost-effective advantages that will benefit both the business and its growing number of employees, including a central location, which makes it possible to get to a customer anywhere in the nation in just a few hours; a first-class infrastructure of roads, highways and rail; and a high-quality standard of living, with good schools and a safe community.

“Logistics is a crucial component for any successful company and RedStone Logistics, based on the experience of its leaders, is ready to compete and grow,” said Overland Park Mayor Carl Gerlach. “Overland Park’s support for businesses and commerce is evident by our dedication to superior infrastructure and municipal services. Our latest citywide survey indicates Overland Park is a great place to live, work and raise children, as well as having quality roads and streets. We welcome RedStone Logistics and appreciate its support and belief in our nationally recognized city.”

“I am always excited to see an entrepreneur like Jim Ritchie bring a business from an idea to official startup,” said Kansas Commerce Secretary Pat George. “I’m also pleased that the company will launch and expand in Overland Park. I wish every success to RedStone Logistics moving forward.”
