Epiq Systems breaks ground on expansion to KCK headquarters

Epiq Systems of Kansas City, Kan., has initiated construction on a 20,000-square-foot expansion to its 45,000- square-foot corporate headquarters office at 501 Kansas Ave., the Kansas Department of Commerce announced today. The estimated completion of the expansion is summer 2013.

The company, a global provider of technology solutions for the legal profession, will invest approximately $7.5 million in the expansion. Epiq expects to receive approximately $4.5 million of incentives related to facility and employment expansion.

“Epiq System’s expansion is great news for the technology industry in Kansas City area,” said Kansas Commerce Secretary Pat George. “I’m excited that Kansas can provide the right business environment for Epiq to expand, create good jobs and to continue to provide excellent products and service for its customers.”

The new facility will house primarily technology associates, comprising both software and IT engineers, in order to meet growing demands for Epiq’s proprietary legal technology solutions.

When complete, Epiq will be positioned to expand its Kansas City workforce by 80 employees to more than 200 associates. Epiq employs approximately 1,000 associates worldwide.
