The KIT program may be used to assist firms involved in job creation. Training can include pre-employment, classroom and on-the-training by in-house instructors or vendors. Pre-employment training may be used to allow the company and prospective employees an opportunity to evaluate one another before making employment commitments.

Prospective employees are given the knowledge and specific skills necessary for job entry. Trainees may receive instruction on the company’s own production equipment on the plant floor or on similar machinery in a classroom setting.

Eligible Expenditures
Examples of eligible expenditures include instructor salaries, curriculum planning and development, materials, supplies, textbooks and minor training equipment.

To be eligible, a company must retrain at least one existing position at an average wage equal to or greater than the median wage for their county

A non-refundable application fee of $500 will be required for all Kansas Industrial Training (KIT) applications received on or after October 1, 2016 and is required at the time of application submission.
