Office of Minority and Women Business Development
The Office of Minority and Women Business Development promotes business development with a focus on minority- and women-owned businesses. Information and referrals are provided in the areas of procurement, contracting and subcontracting, financing and business management. The office also partners with other business advocates to sponsor business education workshops and seminars.

Kansas Minority & Women Business Directory
The Kansas Minority & Women Business Directory has been prepared to serve as a resource guide for purchasing agents, contractors and other persons involved in procurement and contracting of goods and services. Our intention is to encourage and foster economic linkages between public/private sector entities and disadvantaged, minority and women owned businesses.

Currently, the directory consists of businesses that have been certified by the Kansas Department of Commerce through its Statewide Certification Program. Certifications offered include Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE), Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) and Women Business Enterprise (WBE).  In the near future, non-certified minority and women owned businesses will have an opportunity to list their businesses as well.

Click here to visit the online Kansas Minority & Women Business Directory.

For a list of Certified DBE’s willing to perform as subcontractors on the Kansas Department of Transportation’s (KDOT’s) federal aid projects, please visit the KDOT website or click on the following link: www.ksdot.org/divadmin/civilrights.

Please note: The listing of any company, organization or individual in this online directory does not reflect an endorsement of the company, organization or individual by the state of Kansas nor by the Kansas Department of Commerce.

Kansas Statewide Certification Program
This office also administers the Kansas Statewide Certification Program, where women and minority businesses can be certified as a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE), Minority Business Enterprise (MBE), and Women Business Enterprise (WBE). Certification may increase opportunities for women and minority businesses to gain contracts and subcontracts from governmental and private entities committed to the inclusion of minority- and women-owned businesses in the contracting and procurement process. Program services are free.
